ANGEL TREE
Every year during the Christmas season, children are referred to the House of Hope by the Department of Children’s Services, (DCS), other agencies and the school system. We provide Christmas gifts for children in DCS custody & foster care, those with open DCS cases, those placed with relatives, as well as other children in need within our community.
Because of private and business donors and sponsors we were able to provide gifts for 644 children in 2022. Each gift is processed at a warehouse location which entails the handling of roughly 15,000 items. The children receive toys, undergarments, clothing, pajamas, toiletry items and blankets. Community volunteers wrap all the gifts at the Cumberland County Community Complex. The House of Hope also provides a database to prevent duplication of services between churches and organizations so we may be good stewards of the generous donations provided.
